On the dark streets of Florence, a photographer tries to capture interesting imagery. He spots an interesting figure and takes a picture of it. On his camera, the figure has disappeared. He looks up and the figure has moved. He takes the picture again, but still the figure does not appear in the photo. He walks over to the figure, only to see it move away. The photographer then chases this figure throughout the city passing religious structures, clubs, and political buildings. Finally they meet. The figure within the film represents the fleeting emotion that one cannot quite grasp until completely faced with that emotion. It could be inspiration, love, confidence, strength, or some other ungraspable feeling.
